As we visited the Gold Souk, we descovered the less glam and more traditional side of Dubai . Once you leave the main street and move towards the back alleys and tiny street shops, you´re truly in the middle east. There we strolled, buying gold, silver, cashmere and spices, inhaling all impressions surrounding us. The sellers are very pushy, the air is hot, but the prices are completely insane and the feeling of culture is overwhelming. I haven´t been to a local market of this size since Gambia in 2013, and it was truly inspiring to be "back". If you´re ever so lucky as to visit the Emirates, I recommend a trip to the gold- and spice souk.
